GENUSSREGION PÖLLAUER HIRSCHBIRN
The small round fruit has been rooted in the region for centuries and has successfully
matured into a culinary figurehead of the region in recent years. Since 2006, the region
has officially borne the title "Pöllauer Hirschbirn Genussregion".
RENAISSANCE OF A REGIONAL CULTURAL HERITAGE
Granted, our fruit farm was not entirely uninvolved in the brilliant triumphal procession of the Hirschbirn.
We recognized the potential of this almost forgotten wild pear variety early on. We have been refining the
antlerless fruit into limited and highly sought-after Retter nature specialities since 1990.
